Local 701
Local 701 is in the middle of a massive employee recruitment program. Management has instituted a 3 month plan to recruit new staff
by offering all employees $2000.00 for each new Nurse they recruit. $1000.00 will be paid out after the new hire completes 30 days of employment and the other $1000.00 after the new hire completes one year of
service. Get out there and get recruiting!!

12/09/02 update . . .
Congratulations to the OPEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania Nurses at Local Unit #707. The unit ratified a new two-year agreement on November
27, 2002. The new agreement includes an eleven percent (11%) wage increase over the life of the contract, an increase in shift differential, a new self-directed defined contribution retirement plan as well as
changes to some of the non-economic language in the agreement. Thanks goes out to the OPEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania Negotiating team that included Gail Faulstick, Tim Pritchard, Brenda Tubbs, Martha Pennell, Martha
Williams, Jack Hewitt, Roger Arbogast, Bonnie Healy and Eric Sanoba, Lead Negotiator. The team spent over 80- hours in preparation and negotiations. A special thank you goes out to those that aggressively recruited
new members during the negotiating period and those that responded by becoming OPEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania members. This special effort very much demonstrated support for the OPEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania team at
the negotiating table.
